But you must first have either Fodder Equipment or Charms. Charms are a lot harder to obtain than Fodder Equipment, but using Charms is a lot cheaper and more effective. This guide will also discuss how to separate a good Substat Roll from a bad one, which is something that every budding E7 player should know in order to gear their Heroes properly.
Where Do I Enhance My Equipment?
First, you go to your Inventory from the Lobby Screen. This is circled in the image below. This will take you to your Inventory Page which displays all of your collected equipment pieces from Weapons, Armors, Helmets, Boots, and Accessories. This inventory screen is shown in the image below. Pick a specific equipment piece you’d like to Enhance. A small Overview Screen will appear, displaying your equipment piece’s main stat, substats, and set type. To Enhance your weapon, simply click the “Enhance” button (circled below). And there it is! Finally, the Enhance Equipment Page will appear, where you’ll be able to Level Up your selected Equipment.
Charms vs. Fodder Equipment
You can only Enhance your equipment by consuming either Charms or Fodder Equipment. The main difference between the two is their Gold Cost. Using Charms for enhancing Equipment is significantly less expensive than if you were to use Fodder Equipment. The general Gold Cost difference is shown in the images below: Using Fodder Equipment = 38,896 Gold/Level (Equipment Level 5 > 6) Using Charms = 14,400 Gold/Level (Equipment Level 6 > 7) However, keep in mind that there’s also an obvious benefit to using Fodder Equipment as well. They’re more common, and thus, more farmable than even Lesser Charms.
Enhancing Gear: General Tips
To help bolster your knowledge about the game, here are some helpful tips to remember while enhancing your Equipment!
EXP Bonus Chance
When enhancing equipment, there’s a chance for you to get Bonuses (as shown in the image above) which significantly increase the EXP that your equipment gains. This mechanic relies solely on RNG, and may happen only once in a while. But it will cut down your Gold Costs when enhancing Equipment Pieces greatly. To proc these bonuses more often, try to select only one material at a time before Enhancing.
Equipment Rarity
Equipment pieces are divided into 5 Rarities:
Normal (Gray) Good (Green) Rare (Blue) Heroic (Purple) Epic (Red)
One thing to keep in mind is that every piece of equipment will either gain or improve a Substat every 3 Levels. The higher the rarity, the less additional Substats you’ll have to gain. For example, existing substats with Heroic or Epic gear are only further improved — making them generally stronger and more specialized than lower rarity Equipment. This is mainly why you should only invest in high-level Heroic and Epic Equipment. Rare equipment (and Good/Normal equipment) should only be:
Sold for gold Extracted for cores, or Used as Fodder Equipment
